The following is a Sources Sought/Request for Information notice. This posted notice is not a Pre- Solicitation or Solicitation document. The government is not currently soliciting bids, quotes or proposals at this time; however, reserves the right to do so at a later date. The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System has a future Brand Name or Equal requirement for fiberglass laundry carts. The brand name provided for reference is the Techni-Quip TQ-1500-2. Equivalent products will be considered. Please see the attached list of salient features required for any equivalent. The product selected must include the cart body, top, front, back, and sides made of fiberglass reinforced frame. Manuals must be available online (or paper acceptable), safety data sheet (SDS) documents if applicable, warranty card, warranty documentation, etc. Salient Characteristics 1-piece molded construction (fiberglass) Reinforced bottom ( frame and body and shelves) Heavy-duty casters, non skid, does not leave black marks, brakes Caster thread guards Caster pattern- must be two fixed, side to side back side of cart, two swivel 360 degree, ball bearing and heavy duty reinforced construction-commercial grade caster Caster swivel has braking system as well as the fixed caster 2 chest handles Exterior has non marking bumpers Drain holes 2 removable shelves Shelves slant back 2.5. Straight in with no slant back is acceptable. Slant back makes folding and processing work more ergonometric for EMS staff and likely contractor workers. Converts to a bin cart. This for shipping and receiving. Nestable Width: 28-30 inches Length: 48-60 inches Height: 63-68 inches Depth 55-60 Fire retardant Anti-microbial Carts must have document pocket. Generally those are affixed to side of cart designated as width, about 12 inches from caster level. Document pocket must plexiglass or similar construction and heavy duty. Drain valve NO poly-based carts. Although fire retardant, the heat warps and bends the plastic/poly plastic.
