Revised Description: The Government intends to issue a new contract with a Technical Data Package (TDP) to provide Breech Reliability Upgrade Kits in order to replenish the M109 family of vehicle breech kits. The breech assembly on the M109 series of artillery vehicles has not kept pace with advances in munition propellants. The Product Manager (PdM) Self-Propelled Howitzer Systems (SPHS) has implemented engineering changes to breech parts on the M284 cannon assembly (referred to as the M284 Breech Reliability Upgrade Kit) that results in a more robust firing train assembly. Many of the changed parts are not compatible with the breech legacy parts. This has necessitated the implementation of a complete fleet replacement strategy for the affected breech parts. Therefore, the Government will procure a supply stock of M284 Breech Reliability Upgrade Kits to meet demand needs of the entire fleet of the M109 Family of Vehicles (FOV). Period of performance is 1 year (12 months). First Article Testing is required. A total of 200 Breech Upgrade Kits is required for this procurement for delivery during the performance of the contract. Delivery of not less than 50% (100) is required no later than (NLT) 60 days after successful First Article Testing (FAT) after contract award and at the 12th month of the base year. The Government intends to solicit, negotiate and award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract type to the successful Offeror.
