ShoreZone is a coastal imaging and habitat mapping system developed to describe the complexity of the supratidal, intertidal, and nearshore subtidal zones that comprise the coastal margin, with an initial conceptual framework and coding system developed in 1979. The program is comprised of a partnership of Federal, state and local agencies as well as private and non-profit organizations.
